Healthy water for healthy living

HշO International, a water purifying company in Kimberley held a Plumbers Evening. This was an information sharing session for plumbers and members of the public at their premises.
This only franchise in the Northern Cape is owned by Masego Seleke, a young, vibrant entrepreneur and community builder. She is currently studying towards a second degree in Policy Studies through Unisa. “I am running this business in order to assist others”, said the petite and soft spoken Masego.
The business was established four years ago at the Diamond Pavilllon Mall. It relocated to Phakamile Mabija Street at the beginning of 2019, keep with the high demand. A bigger tank is installed ensuring a constant flow during those waterless days. She also sells water treatment products, a variety of purifiers ranging from jugs to dispensers; counter filters; ice markers; bar fridges and coffee machines. “It is effective to treat you own water as this contributes towards keeping the environment clean. Plastic bottles are a major contributors to pollution. You also save on energy, time and fuel cost” said Masego.
The franchise started twenty five years ago by Tony Marchesini, “at that time some people thought I was crazy, selling water, especially in South Africa because we have the best water in the continent. I invited Doctors and Professors from the Universities in Cape Town when I opened my first shop and all of them approved the concept” said Tony. The business has grown to forty five franchisees across the country, with water treatment plants in Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is supplying big institutions such as hospitals, hotels and malls with a wide variety of water treatment products.
The company has partnered with Best Water Technology (BWT), currently the manufacturer of number one water treatment products in the world. Using treated water prolongs the lifespan of house hold appliances and plumbing. Hard or aggressive water eats away at piping. “Softer water results to luxury living, you use less soap and fabric softeners on your towels, linen and clothing,” remarked Tony.
There are people who prefer drinking juices and other flavoured drinks due to the bad taste of the water. A purifier polishes the water and makes it palatable or gives it a sweet taste; this also improves the quality of health including protecting your teeth as most harmful bacteria are removed during treatment.
According to Tony the main objective of this company is to help people see water as a health product.
“This was a very informative session” responded Chere Monethi, owner of Plumbing and Tile.
