CARING FOR THE NEEDY

In celebrating June 16, Amandla Danca Teatro ZA and other stakeholders are reaching out to those in need by accumulating necessities for winter.

Amandla Dança Teatro ZA is a non-profit organization established in 2015 and its associates are embarking on a winter charity drive by collecting items such as clothes, blankets, toiletries and other necessities.

Co-founder of the organization, Mnwabisi Bangiwe, pleaded with the public to “please help us make a difference in someone’s life by donating winter necessities.  Annually from the beginning of June, we collect these items and handover on the 16.  This year we will be distributing from the Northern Cape Theatre”.

June 16 will be a hype of activities at the theatre.  Free entertainment will be provided for donors and receivers.  Stall will be available selling food and other interesting goodies, the public is heartily invited to the Northern Cape Theatre.

Mr and Miss June 16 2023 will be crowned, stage performances Orange Dress and Modimo Ngaka, written and directed by theatre doyens Thabo Motlhabi alongside Mogale Sedibe.  The funds from the stage productions will go towards the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.

Tickets for the stage production are R100 for one show and R150 for both shows.

All donors to drop off the items at 43 Mafungu Street, Galeshewe.

Amandla Dança Teatro ZA collected sanitary towels through their Amantombazane Ethu drive and gave to schools around Kimberley.  It will be the third year for the organisation providing for the disadvantaged.
