By Dwight Sekgoro
Kgothatso Montjane and her doubles partner Yui Kamiji of Japan had a great outing at the United States Open winning their second doubles title together in what proved to be a smashing weekend of tennis finals.
The pair have now won their second championship together at the US Open. This happened as their opponents in the finals withdrew as a result of injury to one opponent Jiske Griffioen. She could not continue the match up alongside her wheelchair doubles partner Diede De Groot.
Montjane and Kamiji won the title evening without a single serve for the game and were crowned champions much to their delight. The pair are now ranked number three in the women’s wheelchair doubles rankings. They have now won two of the four major tennis titles.
