On Friday morning , 22 September 2023 a member community was searching for empty bottles in a garbage hole at Vaal compound nearby Alheit in Kakamas.
He noticed a plastic bag covered with blood and opened it when he discovered the body of a deceased newborn baby.
SAPS and other emergency services were contacted and attended the scene.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of the death of the baby.
The Kakamas SAPS are investigating a case of Concealment of Birth was opened at Kakamas SAPS . The police is requesting tje assistance of the community in locating the mother or share any information that can assist in the investigation of the case.
