NC: JTG DISTRICT HOST SAPS PRAYER DAY IN MOTHIBISTAD

On 2023-09-27 the JTG District Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) hosted a powerful Prayer Service in Mothibistad polcing area.

The church service was attended by Station Commanders and members from the stations within the JTG district as well as the

Traffic Department, Correctional Services and Sector teams of all stations in the district.

The event was graced by the presence of local Pastors.

Chaplain Brooks directed the service and led with spiritual songs.

The opening prayer was delivered by Chaplain Maseng who reminded all members in uniform of the theme of this years’ service “LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN UNTO GOD”

The purpose of the day was outlined by Col Moetsi, the Station Commander of Mothibistad representing the District Commissioner, Major General Besnaar.

He stated that September is declared as Police Safety Month with the intention of increasing safety awareness and to highlight the challenge of attacks on police officials and that it was linked to the Commemoration Day that is held annually in September.

Col Moestsi also appreciated that the Prayer service was held in Mothibistad that has become a hotspot area for contact crimes especially murder the highest in the District.

He requested all members and the community to work together in an effort to reduce crime in the district.

Bishop Hilton Apolis also led in prayer in partnership with SAPS Spiritual Crime Prevention. In his message he asked the SAPS members to accept the Lord as their saviour and let Him guide them in their everyday lives.

The Mothibistad Vispol Commander, Captain Nomvuyo Makoloi appreciated all attendees who honoured the call to pray together as well as the custodians of the programme EHW and local Pastors who made the day memorable.
