NC: SAPS CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND PRAYER SERVICE IN KIMBERLEY
Kimberley: 06 December 2023: SAPS Provincial Components in the Northern Cape gathered for Christmas carols at the Provincial Office boardroom on 06 December 2023. The day also commemorated World AIDS Day and was spearheaded by the Provincial SAPS Employee Health and Wellness(EHW) Component.
The Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Corporate Services, Maj Gen Henriette De Waal, Provincial Heads, senior officers and members attended the event.
Chaplain Rodney Mathane opened with a prayer. Maj Gen de Waal and Chaplain Thusho Moseki lit candles for GBVF victims and HIV/AIDS.
Maj Gen de Waal rendered a Christmas message on behalf of the Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Koliswa Otola and reiterated that Christmas is a time to reflect on what we have done for other people and also how they assisted us during the past year.
She encouraged everyone to take some time out and cherish precious moments while creating new ones with your relatives. She concluded that we should love with warmth, sincerety and embrace all those who hold a special place in your heart and wished everyone a safe and merry Christmas.
Christmas carols were sung and Reverend Simane Morake, the Provincial Chairperson of Spiritual Crime Prevention rendered a Christmas devotion with the topic “to us a child is born and to us a Son is given.”
Chaplain Rodney Mathane prayed for the GBVF scourge especially as we observe the 16 Days of activism for no violence against women and children while the HIV/AIDS prayer was delivered Chaplain Thusho Moseki.
The service was concluded with a benediction by Chaplain Itumeleng Pudule while the Provincial SAPS band led the members with festive Christmas Carols.
