Six newly qualified Veterinarians have joined the Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform’s Veterinary Services.

The initiative is part of Government’s Compulsory Community Service (CCS) programme. The CCS programme offers the newly qualified veterinarians the opportunity, to render their much needed services to rural areas and to gain valuable experience and knowledge – under the supervision of the qualified veterinary doctors.

The programme runs for a year and is part of taking veterinary services to the whole province – especially the far flung rural areas. The programme was introduced by government as part of bridging the animal health services gap between the urban and rural communities in the country.

The newly qualified veterinarians will be based in various districts of the province, The Department wishes them well in their endeavors.
