Northern Cape Health MEC Maruping Lekwene visited the newly-born babies and their mothers at the Galeshewe Day Hospital because it is regarded as the best and oldest hospital. He presented the mothers with gift bags as part of celebrating Christmas.
A healthy baby boy was delivered at 00h05 in Kuruman in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District, the first for the day.
MEC Lekwene congratulated the mothers of newly-born babies and wished them a Merry Christmas, he then encouraged them to love and take care of their babies. Lekwene further took the time to applaud all health professionals for their dedication and hard work during these trying times of Covid-19.
“It is very important that these babies get a good nutrition and are that immunisation is up to date,” said Lekwene.
