City church honours health workers

The City of Hope church in Kimberly a fortnight ago held a service to appreciate, acknowledge and celebrate health workers for their selfless service to society .
City of Hope Reverend Jan Ren explained the mission as follows: “The purpose of this initiative is to show gratitude for the sacrifices of those in the health industry, especially during the pandemic where many worked long hours under unpredictable conditions exposing their families to potential danger,” stated van Reneen.
“The church and members of the community decided to commemorate health professionals, to encourage them to continue to do good and not to be weary in doing good”.
The service was conducted in English and Afrikaans to ensure the impact of the message. The City of Hope church had a similar service at the beginning of 2023 which they dedicated to teachers. Over 120 principals and teachers in Kimberly then were in attendance.
“Some of the nurses have been in the profession for over forty years and no one has done this for them,” added the Reverend.
The church intends to have another service to appreciate the services of the law enforcement officials including security officers.
“We are not comparing one profession to another. Our objective is to acknowledge the selfless efforts of these individuals and their families,” highlighted Reneen.
He added, “As a token of appreciation City of Hope provided these individuals with vouchers to attend the ‘Relentless Through Healing Retreat’, to empower them to be well adjusted individuals with a healthy heart, because a healthy heart can impact other hearts.”
The Reverend stressed the need break the cycle of brokenness, “because broken parents raise broken children. We need the love of Jesus to forgive our parents,” stressed Reverend van Reneen.
Despite the high level of intimacy invoked at these seminaries, a lot of families were restored.
