The United Congregational Church in the Southern Africa, Isaac Hughes, celebrated Easter Sunday and witnessed the baptismal of 19-month old Omolemo Tsebe. The congregants also embraced Silvia Modisa to Masole a ga Kreste organisation within the church.
Rev Podule, said a solid Christian foundation is essential in a child’s life, because it stimulates the conscious from an early stage. He urged parents to raise children under the church’s guidance, hence each child gains Godparents who will help raise them.
The day was an achievement for Silvia as she has been trialing for two years to be a fully-fledged member of the organisation.
Podule gave thanks to God for participating in Modisa’s ceremony, “This is not an easy route. Watch out for fake prophets and focus on active members of the organisation not, the fallen ones,” remarked the reverend.
The church’s Secretary, Tshiamo Maruping, explains that prospective candidates must be baptised and confirmed within the UCCSA church to qualify as a member of the organisation.
“The trial period is usually six to twelve months. However, it took Silvia two years due to delays such as the pandemic, which was beyond her control, but she persevered,” said Maruping.
According to Maruping, Silvia, a mother of two boys, exceeded their expectations by participating in all church activities, including representing the region at conferences. He praised her for being humble and obedient, despite occupying a senior position at her workplace.
“I no longer feel like an outsider, now that I am wearing my uniform,” said Silvia, who enhanced her black and white uniform with a khaki jacket.
