NC: KIMBERLEY PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS BEHIND BARS

The Kimberley Regional Court recently handed down a 25 year direct imprisonment sentence to a 42 year old male for exposing children to pornographic material during 2019 and 2021.
The court heard that the accused would allure boys and girls between the ages of 7-13 years old to the veld next to Gariep Hospital in Eltoro Park, and expose them to pornographic videos and photographs.
He continually groomed them into this sexual relationship by providing them with food, alcohol and cash in order to keep the relationship a secret.
He would further manipulate the victims by coercing them to commit  sexual acts on him.
The offender was arrested on Wednesday, 08 September 2021 and charged under the Films and Publication Act, Act 65/1997.
Due to the meticulous gathering of evidence by the investigation team, bail was denied and the suspect remained  behind bars until he was convicted on Tuesday, 26 September 2023.
The accused name will be recorded in the National Sex Offender data-base.
The Northern Cape SAPS Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola applauded Detective Sergeant Gwyneth Paulsen for the thorough and meticulous investigation of the case.
She further pleaded with the public to join the police in warning child abusers, that this province will not tolerate paedophiles’ heinous actions, children must be loved and protected from harm.
