Upington – 6 December 2023: The determination by members of the SAPS in the ZF Mgcawu District to remove drugs from the streets has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man in Kalksloot, Rosedale on Wednesday, 6 December 2023.
Members of Upington Border Police assisted by Public Order Police received information regarding drugs at a residence in the Rosedale area. The information was operationalised and the residence was searched.
During the search, police discovered dagga to the estimated value of R 41 675.00 and an undisclosed amount of cash. The male suspect was detained for dealing in drugs and he is expected to appear in court soon.
The ZF Mgcawu District Commissioner, Maj Gen Thabo Elizabeth Mphuthi commended the members for their swift response and ensured the community that drug related crimes will be vigorously policed during the Festive Season and beyond.
