The Northern Cape Tourism Authority (NCTA) has urged tourists to explore the Province’s beauty and diversity during the festive season.
The statement was made during the 2020 tourism summer activation campaign, held at the Ditshoswaneng Arts Centre in Ikhutseng, Warrenton.
NCTA General Manager, Diana Martin said the South African Tourism had conceptualised a specific marketing campaign called “Summer Differently” to unlock and re-ignite domestic tourism. She indicated that they developed a provincial summer drive to complement the national campaign, showcasing the Northern Cape’s iconic summer experiences.
MEC for Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Abraham Vosloo, indicated that the summer holiday is the time of the year when families and friends come together, reconnect with each other and rediscover the unique tourism experiences of the Northern Cape.
“Whether you are coming from Johannesburg to Cape Town, travelers can take time to reach their destination by taking the road less traveled via N12, N14, N1, N7, N18 and R63 roads. Alternatively, we invite you to explore any one or a combination of our seven routes crisscrossing the entire province offering unique family adventures, vast landscapes and engaging cultural experiences. This is the time to discover our beautiful province and join a nationwide journey in celebrating our rich, diverse landscape, the melting pot of culture and adventurous experiences that awaits everybody in the Northern Cape”, explained MEC Vosloo.
Visitors and residents are encouraged to keep the towns and communities clean. Business owners are also requested to practice acceptable hygiene standards by keeping their business surroundings spotless.
NCTA Board Chairperson, Colin Fortune said, “We have a great province with friendly people and sufficient accommodation in all of our regions. Travelers can expect a lot of fun as they explore this beautiful province.”
Guests were entertained by Amandla Dance Teatro, a renowned dance group from Galeshewe.
