Prieska tames boxing game

Excitement and adrenaline filled the air at Part Zone’s parking lot in Prieska last Saturday as boxing spectators gathered to witness a thrilling day of blow-to-blow boxing action hosted by the Prieska Amateur Boxing Development Club.
This remarkable boxing event showcased a total of six fights with the fourth bout of the evening being an exhibition match. This boxing event showcased a total of six fights with the fourth bout of the day being an exhibition match between youngsters in the 50kg+ division.
Kimberley’s Freedom Boxing Club came all the way from the diamond city to participate in the event.
The first match was between Dion Rattle from the Freedom Boxing club who came up against Paul Tieties from the Prieska Amateur Boxing Development Club. The bout was in the 20kg to 22kg weight division.
Tieties showed his experience and outclassed Rattle with a unanimous decision win. The next match was between Don Visagie against Robert Ditsebe, both represented Blossom Boxing Club and was fought in the 50kg weight division.
The hard-fought match from both fighters ended in a win for Ditsebe. This was the first boxing event hosted by the Prieska Amateur Boxing Development Club.
The boxing organizers went above and beyond to ensure the event was a success, providing fans with top-notch amenities, including comfortable seating and some music. Families, friends and fans of all ages came together to support their favourite fighters and to celebrate the sport of boxing.
The day was a testament to the enduring appeal of boxing, uniting a community in appreciation of talent, dedication, and sportsmanship. The Part Zone facilities had truly been transformed into a boxing haven.
