In terms of Road Ordinance 19 of 1976, the Sol Plaatje Municipality hereby serves notice
on behalf of Sol Plaatje University Luka Jantjie House (North Campus), Private Bag X5008,
of intent to temporary close Reservoir Road (Reservoir up until Birbeck Avenue) and Waterworks Road (Virgin Active to corner of Reservoir Road) for the annual Vice-Chancellor’s Cycle Challenge. The duration of the event will be from 05:30am 12 November 2023 to 13:00pm 12 November 2023.
Additionally, the following junctions will be affected:
Going Out: Left onto Reservoir Road, Left onto Waterworks Street, Cross over Jacobus
Smit Avenue and continue into Gerrit Schouten Avenue, Left into MacDougal Street, Right onto Oliver Road, Right onto Landbou Street, Continue onto Barkly Road (R357),
Left onto Schmidstdrift Road – (N8/ Griquastad Road), U-Turn on the Schmidstdrift Road – (N8/Griquastad Road), Right onto Barkly Road (R357), Left onto Memorial Street (N12/Cape Town Road), Left into Capitol Street, Right into Gerrit Schouten Avenue, Continue onto Waterworks Street, Right into Reservoir Road. Coming Back: Circle 3: N8/Griquastad Road, Circle 2: Douglas Road, Circle 1: Kalahari Lodge, Cnr Memorial Street (N12/ Cape Town Road) & Capitol Street (the street by Elizabeth Conradie, going to the Old Age Home) Cnr Gerrit Schouten Avenue/ MacDougal (The Arc – Vet/ Path Care), Jacobus Smit Avenue Intersection (Virgin Active) Cnr Waterworks & Reservoir Road (SPU South Campus – Sport Precinct).
