The Victoria West SAPS with the assistance of a community member arrested three adult male suspects with sheep carcasses.
On Friday, 17 May 2024 at about 17:00 a motorist gave the three suspects a lift to Victoria West. The driver noticed the suspects carrying a bag and bloodstains on their jackets hence he drove to the police station for assistance.
One male suspect was arrested at the police station and police confiscated the stolen sheep carcasses worth approximately R3000.
The two other males fled on foot and one handed himself over to the police on 20 May 2024. The Victoria West SAPS with the assistance of De Aar Public Order Policing pursued the third suspect for approximately 5km on foot in the veld and also arrested him on 20 May 2024.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Victoria West Magistrates Court soon. The investigation continues.
